Self-Defense Workshop & Book Talk with Rana Abdelhamid

  • Muslim Women's Organization 1112 Mount Vernon Street Orlando, FL, 32803 United States (map)

Join us for an empowering afternoon of self-defense, storytelling, and community building with Rana Abdelhamid, founder of Malikah and author of Get Home Safe.

Participants will learn practical self-defense techniques rooted in situational awareness, boundary setting, verbal de-escalation, and physical safety skills, all designed to help women and girls feel more confident navigating everyday life.

Rana will also discuss her book Get Home Safe, sharing her journey from growing up in Queens as the daughter of Egyptian immigrants to becoming a nationally recognized advocate for community safety and anti-violence initiatives. The event will conclude with a Q&A and book signing. Whether you're looking to build confidence, learn practical safety skills, or connect with other women in your community, this event is for you. No prior self-defense experience is necessary.
