Domestic violence task force

To be a resource and support for women affected by domestic violence, MWO has started a task force to focus on proactive ways to assist women in their time of urgent need. A program is also being developed working with local domestic violence shelters to train members to be advocates and help the shelters better provide for the needs of Muslim women.  The MWO is also a member of the Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force.  To be a part of this initiative, please contact Sana Imam at

The Youth Advisory Council of MWO is a leadership development program for youth, specifically geared towards high school-aged girls. For more information or to get involved with this program, please contact Humera Siddiqui at

Gems Gala

The Genuinely Empowered Muslim Sisters Gala is MWO's only general fundraising event. We strive to bring in inspirational speakers, entertainment and food to create an exceptional experience for everyone, and bring people together to share our passion for community service, personal development and the empowerment of women. Women who are leaders or key players in the community are recognized and awarded with the respect they deserve for all the work that they do behind the scenes and at the forefront of the Central Florida Muslim community.
